Finding Confidence Again | Miss M’s Wilmington Boudoir Experience

When Miss M began her search for a North Carolina boudoir photographer, she wasn’t entirely sure she was ready.

Not because she didn’t want the experience — but because she wasn’t sure she would feel beautiful.

She came to her session for a reason I hear often, but never take lightly: she wanted to be reminded of her own unique beauty.

Boudoir, at its core, is about self-love. Even when images are shared with a partner, the real transformation happens for the person in front of the camera. Miss M walked into the studio unsure. She left empowered.

1. Why did you do a boudoir session?
To remind myself of my unique beauty.

2. What made you choose Boudoir by indigosilver studio?
Lori’s authenticity and professionalism! During the “intro” call, she was so thorough – from what to expect, how to get prepared, addressing concerns, etc. When we first spoke, I was still on the fence about doing a boudoir shoot but she was so welcoming and down-to-earth. I immediately knew I need to book this shoot. While her portfolio speaks already speaks for itself, her personality sealed the deal for me.

3. What were you nervous about going into your session?
I was most nervous about whether I’d feel beautiful. I’d done as much prep as possible but this was so far out of my comfort zone that I was afraid I’d arrive and not feel the way I’d hoped.

4. How do you feel now that you’ve completed the session?
SO GLAD!!!!! Almost a year before my shoot, I really started struggling with self-love/confidence. I was interested in doing boudoir to remind myself of all the things I found beautiful and I’m so glad I did. The entire experience far exceeded my expectations and I felt so empowered afterwards.

5. What was your favorite part of this experience?
My favorite part was the conversation throughout as it helped me relax and really get into the shoot. I was pretty nervous and reserved at the start, but I ended up trying some more adventurous things as the day progressed.

6. If you were to recommend us to your best friend, what would you say?
Don’t hesitate – just do it. Whatever preconceived notions you have about yourself or boudoir, let go of them and I can guarantee you won’t regret it.
